What the file does not contain
- Card details and payment records — Stripe holds those as each community's payment processor.
- Replies other members wrote to you, and their profiles — that is their data, not yours.
- Your API key secrets, stored only as hashes and unrecoverable by anyone, including us.
Nothing is holding this up — no live memberships, and no community depending on you to run it.
What closing does
Your sign-in is deleted
The account itself is removed from the authentication provider. The email address is freed, and nobody can sign in as you again.
Your name and profile are erased everywhere
Every membership's name, role, company, bio and photo is cleared, so you disappear from every directory you were in.
Your posts stay, under “a former member”
Discussions other people replied to are not deleted — that would take their words with yours. Your name comes off them.
Your API keys are revoked
Immediately, on the next call. Nothing continues to reach your communities on your behalf.
What stays, and why
Records of payments that were made
Each community's ledger keeps what actually moved, with no name attached to it. It has to reconcile against Stripe and against the community's own accounts, and a ledger that can be rewritten cannot be reconciled at all.
Anything a community exported before today
A community administrator who downloaded their member list keeps that file. This platform cannot reach it.
